I Cubs

On Saturday night I went to an I Cubs game.  There was a rain delay of over an hour, so it was pretty late when they actually took the field.

Luckily Emily was there to talk to me.  I love baseball, but I have a difficult time paying attention to anything after 1o PM.  We had fun exploring all of the ways to wear a one-eared hat. I think wearing it as a tiny bill is one of the funniest things to do with it.

We sat in the bleachers, which meant we couldn't really see the outfield play.  I think the view made up for it.

Farmer's Market

This spring has been busy, and I've spent most Saturday mornings in class.   Last Saturday I was finally able to indulge in on of my favorite Des Moines events - the Farmer's Market.  It is still early in the year, but there was a bit of produce available.  I picked up some asparagus and some spring lettuces.  I am looking forward to picking up fresh veggies there all summer.

On an unrelated note, I had my first nightmare last night about grad school.  It's similar to the dreams about high school and college I have.   I dreamt that I still had to finish a class.  It was much more upsetting then when I have it about High School, because even in my dream I realize that they aren't going to take away my BA if I just found out I need to finish HS.  I hope it doesn't become a regular dream.

Ledges

Today Todd and I decided to spice things up.  Instead of riding to Cumming we decided to drive to Ledges and hike.  We checked the forecast, got directions, and hit the road.

On the way there it started to rain.  At first it looked like it was going to clear up, so we were hopeful.  Our hope didn't last long.  By the time we got to the park it was overcast and showed no sign of clearing.  We did take a few pictures to prove that we made it.

After our photo shoot we decided that we might as well go to lunch, as hiking didn't work out.  I'm sad that we didn't get to hike, but boji fries made up for it.

I did it!

Yesterday I graduated.  It is an amazing feeling.  I still can't believe I'm done.  I think it will take a long time for that feeling to soak in.  I think it will take even longer for me to figure out what I'm going to do with all of my free time.

Mom, Dad, and Stimmel were all there to help me celebrate.  After graduation and brunch Stimmel and I headed to the Vine to meet Emily.  It was nice to be able to catch up with her while we were in Iowa City.
As soon as I got home I framed my diploma and hung it on the wall.  It makes me smile every time I pass it.

Game Night

Last weekend I had some friends over for a rousing game night.  As you can tell from the photos we are a wild and crazy bunch.

It was a good night for me.  I won Apples to Apples and Trivial Persuit.

Saturday Class

I'm spending today in class. I almost got in trouble, because I watched this and now I can't stop laughing. Rowan is awesome.
