I've been up to a lot lately, considering that it is the middle of winter. I normally hibernate in the winter, but the few days above 50 got me out and about, enjoying Des Moines.
I went to see Slipknot a few weeks ago. I'm not really into heavy metal, but it was fun. It was also loud, and I couldn't understand their lyrics, so it made me feel really old.

Speaking of really old, I recently had a birthday. I had class that night, but went out the next day to celebrate. Angela and I took a half day to explore downtown Des Moines. It was a lot of fun. We were able to join some friends for happy hour.
If you're like me, you like to boil things alive for Valentine's Day. OK, I don't really enjoy the boiling things alive part, so it's a good think Stimmel is brave enough to dunk a living thing into boiling water. It was a little upsetting to watch something die, but then I got to dip it's flesh into butter, so I got over it pretty quickly.
It's been a pretty good winter, but I'm ready for spring. I can't wait to get out and enjoy patios and trails again.
