Farmer's Market

I love the downtown Farmer's Market. It's a great place to spend a Saturday morning. Today was a successful trip. I was able to stock up on all sorts of items. I am enjoying all of the fresh produce. I'll miss it next month when it's gone.

Today they were giving away reusable market bags, so I picked one up and filled it with fresh gouda, eggs, honey, raspberries, apple gouda sausage, and lettuce. I will be eating fresh food all week. I was even added to the egg e mail list so I can get farm fresh eggs year round, instead of just at market time.

I can't believe it's already fall. I don't know where the summer went, but I miss it already. I'm just not ready for another long winter.

Ooh the sausage sounds good. Check this link out in case you didn't already know about it: http://www.iowafood.org/index.php

Thanks for the link! I'm going to have to check that out. I need to find a way to buy direct when it's not market season.

Enjoy the tasty eatin' all week. I'm with you on this winter thing. As much as I love autumn, I'm not at all emotionally prepared for the cold dark days ahead. Let's plan a winter craft-fest!

I'm going to miss the market when it ends too! Hopefully I can make it to the market next weekend, it has been a few weeks.
